Immunotherapy also called biological therapy is a type of cancer treatment that boosts the body’s natural defenses to fight cancer.it is used substances made by the body or in a laboratory to import or restore immune system function. Its work is to reduce the growth of the cancer cell. Helping the immune system to work better at destroying cancer cells.
Several types: Monoclonal antibodies and tumor-agnostic therapies, Non-specific immunotherapies, Oncolytic virus therapy, T-cell therapy, and cancer vaccines.
Some immune checkpoint inhibitors: Ipilimumab (Yervoy); Nivolumab (OPDIVO); Pembrolizumab (Keytruda); Atorolimumab (TelCentris); Avelina (Balvenie); Duralumin (Imfinzl).
