Lung cancer is the most diagnosed cancer type in the world and the leading cancer related to death. Evodiamine a component isolated from Bentham (Rosacea), is known to be a potential anti-proliferative activity in the human cancer cell. The present study was designed to examine the antiproliferative effect of evodiamine in human lung cancer cells. The contrivance of action for the growth inhibitory activity of evodiamine on human lung cancer cells was evaluated using flow cytometry for cell cycle distribution, and western blot for assessment of accumulation and phosphorylation of potential target protein. Flow cytometric analysis revealed the evodiamine-induced cell cycle arrest at the phase and apoptosis in the cells. These findings suggested the antiproliferative effects of evodiamine were associated in part with the induction of phase cell cycle arrest and apoptosis and downregulation of the lung cancer cell
